In the coming months we’ll be sending out native trees to all readers who have applied to our Coed Agri scheme so far – and if you haven’t yet – there’s still time to claim some free trees for yourself! The details of how to apply are below, but first, here’s a little bit about what the Coed Agri scheme is all about and why we started it:
Did you know it takes 95 trees to print the 25,000+ copies of the AgriTrader magazine that lands on the doorsteps and in post-boxes of farmers and smallholders across Wales and the border counties each month?
While the paper we use is FSC certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests, we wanted to go further again and give back to our readers while reducing our environmental impact and helping to boost local biodiversity. That’s why we started our Coed Agri scheme!
The aim of the scheme is to offset the 1,140 trees used in creating the magazine each year by sending out 1,200 native trees every year to our wonderful readers. Whether that’s to create new hedgerows, fill gaps in existing ones, shore up banks, or just fill unused corners of land, every application will be considered. All we ask in return is that you send us some photos once you’ve planted your new trees. Once you’ve done that, you’re more than welcome to apply for even more!
How To Apply
To apply, you just need to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with:
- Your full name.
- Telephone number.
- How many trees you’d like, from 1 to 25.
- A brief description of where you would be planting the trees.
If your application is successful, we’ll deliver the bare rooted trees to you in the coming planting season along with tree guards, and a tree care guide.
If you have previously applied and sent us photos after planting, you’re more than welcome to apply again for more trees!
All applications large and small will be considered. So, what are you waiting for? Get in touch and claim your free trees today.
